What is “transparent concrete”: distinguishing features Almost no construction today is complete without the use of concrete. This material is also used for the construction of roads, residential buildings, cottages, various industrial structures, and even for underwater construction. Still, after all, this material is durable, does not burn, is not exposed to mold, and also environmentally friendly, since it is produced only from natural materials – sand, water with crushed stone and cement (chopped lime). By the way, it will not be superfluous at leisure to find out more about the laminate.

But if you add glass fiber-optical threads to the mixture, a little, only about 4%, then the so-called “transparent concrete” will turn out. As you know, houses made of ordinary concrete are light -permeable. Blocks from “transparent concrete” are light -permeable and transparent quite transparent. Through them you can see the silhouette of a person or, for example, plants. Thus, without the loss of the properties of classical concrete, it was possible to get material with new properties.

For the first time, the project from this material was implemented in 2005. Since then, it has been used mainly as decorative building material. Bricks made of translucent concrete seem weightless and with them you can play with light and shadow in the interior, naturally illuminated the initially dark rooms – a corridor, a bathroom, a dressing room.

The material has not yet found widespread use in normal construction, but its use in the construction of elite cottages has great prospects.
