Preparation of clay and lime-clay solutions for plaster

Clay -based plastering solution: advantages and proportions for cooking

To prepare a clay solution, you need to do the following: put the required amount of clay in the box, moisten it with water and cover it with dense material so that it does not begin to dry up. Then, the aggregate is introduced into the swollen clay, the water is interfered and the resulting mixture is poured, achieving the desired consistency.

If the clay is fat, then we take one part of it and four parts of the aggregate, if the clay is normal – 1 and 2, respectively, with skinny clay – 1 and 2.5. If a clay solution passes through a sieve with cells with sizes of 3×3 mm without a residue, then this suggests that a high -quality solution. The finished solution can be used for several days, covering it with a damp cloth.

Due to the low strength of such a solution, it is recommended to add one liter jar of cement per ten liters of solution.

The lime-clay solution of lime and clay dough is prepared, which must be taken in equal proportions. About 4-5 parts of sand are added to the dough (given the fat content of clay). The strength of such a solution is much higher, in comparison with the clay.
