Stretch ceilings: classifications, types and materials of manufacture

The ceiling coating, known in Europe since the 50s of the last century, has recently reached us.

The only problem that buyers face is a large gamut of colors, materials and installation. Often, the client cannot choose the best option and is limited to what the supermarket sales consultant offers him. In this article we will try to characterize stretch ceilings according to the material from which the panel is made.

All stretch ceilings are divided into: fabric and film.

Fabric ceilings are considered to be safe for human health and microclimate in the room, since they “breathe” (do not interfere with the exchange of air between the room and in the ceiling space, as a result of which dampness does not accumulate under the ceiling). In addition, the material is treated with antistatic so as not to become a “vacuumber”. The surface of the material is rough, matte.

For the production of the canvas of film ceilings, polyvinyl chloride film is used – the material from which the plastic part of the metal -plastic windows is made. The film is very durable (the gap pressure is 100 liters per square meter). The color scheme of ceiling coatings is very wide, they are also characterized by ease of operation. Removing such ceilings is very easy – enough wet wiping with a sponge. Are glossy (help visually increase the living space), satin (imitate different coatings – skin, satin, corrugated surface), matte (imitate smooth plaster).
