Phased construction of walls from foam concrete blocks

Advantages and properties of walls from foam concrete blocks

Recently, a very common building material among self -builders has become a material from lightweight concrete. Thanks to the available weight of the elements and a large size, laying a wall of blocks has become much easier and faster.

Foam concrete is one of the vivid representatives of this generation. To obtain it, a special foam is introduced into the concrete mixture. After that, it is evenly poured into the container, while a large “bar” is formed. After this “bar” is dried, it is cut into samples of the desired size. The resulting elements have the correct geometric shape and even faces, therefore, when laying out the wall from this material, a smooth surface is formed, which does not need serious leveling of the wall.

The main advantage of such building materials is low thermal conductivity. In terms of strength, the blocks are inferior to the brick, but it does not pass water and it is easy to cut it with a hacksaw.

The most popular block size is 600×300×200 millimeters, which is equal in volume of 18.5 bricks, and 5 times easier than brick.

During the construction of a garage from foam blocks, expenses are significantly reduced. When laying walls from this material, a cement solution with the addition of lime is a binder as a binder.
