Varieties of wallpaper and their quality characteristics
1. Paper wallpaper. Pros: environmental friendliness, breathability, low cost. Cons: easily healing, fading over time (under the influence of light), service life up to 5 years. These shortcomings are leveled in German and Italian wallpaper. Paper wallpaper requires skill when gluing on the walls.
2. Natural. Made of natural materials, the fibers of which are glued on the base (unprocessed paper or non -woven). It can be fibers of reeds, jute, reed, papyrus, bamboo, flax, sisal. Pros: Absolute environmental friendliness, heat preservation, soundproofing properties, breathability, aesthetic component, confrontation between fungi, lack of burnout effect. Minus – price.
3. Waterproof. Plus – the ability to wash them from pollution. Cons: do not pass air (therefore they are used for rooms where people are for a short time), toxicity. However, there are environmentally friendly washing wallpapers (deep print wallpaper, glass wallpaper, liquid wallpaper).
4. Non -woven. Fibers from fabric and cellulose are used. Pros: strength, conservation of form after applying glue to them, using for walls with any coating, environmental friendliness, air permeability, heat – and sound insulation, aesthetic attractiveness, the ability to apply glue not to wallpaper, but to the walls.
5. Textile. Paper, non -woven (natural base) or foam (synthetic base) are taken as the basis, on the front side – fabric (from individual threads or a whole canvas). Pros: Environmental safety, heat – and noise insulation, breathability. Cons: Easy to healness, dust accumulation.
