Features of the preparation of the floor base before laying tiles
Before laying tiles, you must definitely remove old coatings. If this is not done, they will be deformed from the additional load, which will lead to an increase in the width of the seams or peeling of tiles. The opinion that laying tiles on the old coating will increase the thermal insulation of the floor is not entirely true. Thermal insulation will increase, but not much, but the service life of the new coating will be reduced very significantly.
If the tile is fitted on the concrete base, all the irregularities and potholes need to be thrown. The relief of the base will appear on the surface even with the largest coating thickness.
Often you have to first perform a cement screed to align the floor surface. If it is planned to lay on a wooden base, sheets of six million plywood are attached to it with the help of screws and glue, and the tile is already glued to them. Any type of surface should be cleared of dust, spots, and well dried.
The first stage of laying is the marking of the surface using a marking cord and roulette. You can start styling both from the center and from the corner. There is no standard approach when marking, it all depends on the configuration of the room. To avoid possible peeling down, you can use when laying only the glue that the manufacturer indicated.
