Technology and stages of floor alignment using a concrete screed
If you are building a country house yourself, you need to have some skills so that all work will go smoothly. When the walls and the roof are ready, the turn is suitable for the arrangement of the “insides” of the house. The first thing to do is to align the floor for the subsequent laying of parquet, laminate or other coating. A concrete screed is used to align the floor. The screed can be stiff if it is carried out directly on the basis of the floor, or floating if it lies on a water layer – or thermal insulation.
At the first stage, be sure to clean the surface of any garbage and dust for better clutch of cement. Next, it is necessary to mark. It is carried out with the help of “lighthouses”, which are the profile strings and are attached to the floor with screws or with the help of a thick solution at a distance of 1 – 1.5 meters from each other. It is important that the beacons are at the same level, then the floor will come out even.
When the beacons are installed, you can fill the solution directly to the floor and align it first with a roller so that the concrete goes evenly, and there are no air gaps. Then, using the level, the solution is brought into a perfectly even state, based on the level of the beacons. During leveling, the temperature should not be lower than 20 degrees, drafts are undesirable.
When the solution begins to harden, it is watered with water so that there are no cracks. The beacons are then removed, and the holes remaining after them are filled with the solution and also aligned. It is better to start the floor covering in 20-30 days.
