How to repair the foundation after prolonged operation The most important parameter when choosing the type of foundation is the level of groundwater. It is important to understand that the freezing of the soil and the flow of water in the cavity and a place with uneven density, which are inevitably formed during the construction of the foundation, depends on it.

The materials of the foundation and the soil surrounding them have different density, so when lifting water, it will strive to fill in less dense media, which do not give it resistance. When groundwater occurred, about one and a half meters below the base level of the foundation, the situation should be assessed by the quality of the soil, but it is undesirable to use bulk soil. With a close arrangement of groundwater, you will have to take into account the depth of freezing and water level and, most likely, drain the foundation – make ditches and fill them with less dense material so that water leaves from the sole of the foundation.

The closer the water to the foundation, the less the carrying properties of the soil, therefore, the water must be taken away. When equipping simple cuvettes inclined towards gutters, as in the formation of a drainage system, a specialist consultation is required.
